Mrs. Uzoma Dalhatu

Mrs. Uzoma Dalhatu is a seasoned Legal and Corporate Governance Professional with over fifteen years of relevant experience in corporate, commercial and company secretarial functions gained from top-rated financial institutions and private practice. Her competencies include Legal and Regulatory Compliance, Business Structuring and Transactions Advisory, Company Secretarial services, Legal Advisory, Dispute Resolution, Stakeholder Management and Sustainable Business Strategy. 
Uzoma, as she prefers to be called, is currently the Assistant Company Secretary and Legal Manager for Old Mutual Nigeria. Before taking up her current role, she was the Legal Advisor for the Old Mutual entities in Nigeria, and formerly the Executive Personal Assistant to the Group Chief Executive Officer for Old Mutual West Africa. Prior to joining the Old Mutual Group, Uzoma worked in the banking sector and had a brief stint in private practice. 
Uzoma holds a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and a Masters of Law (LL.M) degree from the University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom. She is a Chartered Secretary, a certified Board and Corporate Governance Evaluator and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK. She is an alumna of the Lagos Business School and currently serves as the Secretary of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association (LBSAA). She is the class President of SMP64 and a member of the LBSAA Governing and Executive Councils. 
Uzoma’s interests include women advocacy, and youth mentoring; and she is the proud Champion of the Old Mutual Women’s Network (OWN) in Nigeria, a network dedicated to the personal and professional development of women. In her capacity as OWN Champion, she pioneered the OWN Mentorship Programme.
